Milestones

The history of the SITTI company is inextricably linked with the postwar recovery of Italy's civil and military aviation industry. Established in 1946, SITTI immediately began working with the Italian Air Force to develop a new telecommunications system for the First Air Region (northern Italy) and Milan's Linate airport.

With the introduction of Italy's Air Traffic Control Service in 1949, SITTI developed the radio communication systems for the Milan and Rome Air Control Centres, the original nucleus of today's national network.

The stage was set for an Italian success story.
